about LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Larimar Medspa offers the CERVELLO Laser Hair Removal system, a cutting-edge platform featuring a powerful laser diode and a double cooling system that enhances safety and effectiveness.

Safe & Effective: The Double Cooling Technology (DCT) minimizes burn risks while effectively targeting hair follicles.

Three Wavelengths: It utilizes 755nm, 805nm, and 1064nm wavelengths for diverse skin types and hair depths.

Faster Treatment: A large spot size and rapid repetition allow for quicker sessions.

Minimal Pain: The cold sapphire tip reduces surface burns, and contact cooling to 5 °C enhances comfort.

Most areas require 8-10 treatments.  Optimal results depend on multiple factors including: hair thickness, texture, and the area being treated. Hormones, diseases, medications or other factors can affect the treatment outcome.

Hair can be removed from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. Sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line may also be treated.

Frequently asked questions

What do the treatments feel like?

When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation.

What are the possible side effects?

Patients may see slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, like a sunburn, lasting a few hours or less. Rarely, blistering may occur. Consult your medical professional for complete information on treatment benefits and risks.

How does Laser Hair Removal compare with other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which must be repeated on a frequent basis. Laser Hair Removal offers permanent hair reduction for lasting results.

How does the Laser Hair Removal compare with electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a lengthy, invasive, and painful method that inserts a needle into each hair follicle to deliver an electrical charge. It often demands years of regular treatments. In contrast, Laser Hair Removal uses light energy on hundreds of follicles simultaneously, treating an area in seconds instead of over an hour.

How many treatments will I need?

Most areas require 8-10 treatments for optimal long term benefits. There is a wide range of possible treatment cycles because of numerous factors that vary per individual. These factors include: hair color, hair thickness, hormonal levels, medications, area treated and the growth cycle of hair.  Expect to need more treatments if you are dark skinned, taking hormones, or if you have any history of irregular periods, polycystic ovary disease, or a family history of excessive hair.

What happens after the treatment?

Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away. However, since some redness may occur, you may want to plan your work or social engagements accordingly. The use of sunscreen is recommended on all treated areas exposed to the sun. As always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair. Shaving, however, is permissible.
