WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Larimar Medspa offers the CERVELLO Laser Hair Removal system. It is a cutting-edge platform that combines the most powerful laser emitting diode with a breakthrough double cooling system that utilizes copper and gold macrochannels to provide the fastest, safest, and most effective hair reduction experience available in aesthetics today.

  • Safe & Effective Results - DCT (Double Cooling Technology) cools the skin for extended periods of time during treatment, reducing the danger of burns while keeping the heat in the dermis, where the hair follicles are treated.

  • 3 Gold Standard Wavelengths- The CERVELLO has three gold standard wavelengths in a single handpiece: 755nm, 805nm, and 1064nm, allowing it to target different tissue depths, address the toughest hair follicle variations, and safely treat all skin types.

  • Faster Treatment Times- You can treat larger areas in less time with a large spot size applicator and a rapid rep rate, while also providing the fastest and most effective hair removal treatment available.

  • Minimal Pain- The cold sapphire tip of the CERVELLO reduces the risk of burns on the skin's surface while keeping heat in the dermis, where hair follicles are treated. Contact Cooling to 5 ° C improves patient comfort, making treatments more pleasant than ever.

Most areas require 8-10 treatments, however, the number of treatments for optimal results depend on multiple factors: hair thickness, texture, and the area being treated. Hormones, diseases, medications or other factors can affect the treatment outcome. In some areas, in addition to the decrease in the number of hairs, the hairs become very fine and light in color.

Hair can be removed from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. Sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line may also be treated.

ABOUT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

What do the treatments feel like?

When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation.

What are the possible side effects?

Although patients experience few side effects, the most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to a sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. In rare instances, blistering may occur. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.

How does Laser Hair Removal compare with other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which must be repeated on a frequent basis. Laser Hair Removal offers permanent hair reduction for lasting results.

How does the Laser Hair Removal compare with electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, Laser Hair Removal effectively treats an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.

TREATMENT FAQS

How many treatments will I need?

Most areas require 8-10 treatments for optimal long term benefits. There is a wide range of possible treatment cycles because of numerous factors that vary per individual. These factors include: hair color, hair thickness, hormonal levels, medications, area treated and the growth cycle of hair.  Expect to need more treatments if you are dark skinned, taking hormones, or if you have any history of irregular periods, polycystic ovary disease, or a family history of excessive hair.

What happens after the treatment?

Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away. However, since some redness may occur, you may want to plan your work or social engagements accordingly. The use of sunscreen is recommended on all treated areas exposed to the sun. As always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair. Shaving, however, is permissible.
